A look back at 2024

In April of 2024, I started my job at Ipsen USA in Cherry Valley, Illinois. They’re global manufacturers of industrial vacuum furnaces. They’re essential tools for aerospace manufacturers, medicinal joint replacements, and a variety of essential high-tech metal parts.

It’s not something I would have ever predicted I’d do.

I’m a Marketing Content Developer, writing stories for the Ipsen Knowledge Center, mostly customer profiles and feature stories.

It’s amazing the things that are happening right in our own hometown that people would never know. Complex machines making amazing machines that look beyond the cosmos, fly beyond the stratosphere, and allow the infirm to move without pain.

People like my father. He’s had two knees and a hip replaced after dealing with years of arthritis and a couple falls. His mobility is crucial to be a caregiver for my mother, whose cancer survival has given her a second lease on life.

It’s incredible inventors, talented troubleshooters, and decades of innovation from companies like Ipsen that have given him the ability to continue her care, and continue their travels pursuing her love of Bridge and, lately, Mahjong.

When you have the time, get to know the companies around you. Check out their stories. Poke around on their website for Knowledge Centers like ours. You never know the legendary creators who live in your community unless you let your curiosity take you.
